| Liver | The mission of the Multiorgan Transplant
Program at the University of Toronto is to develop a
center of the highest clinical excellence and academic
quality for patient care, research,
and education in the field of immunology
and transplantation. The program is founded on the belief
that multidisciplinary collaboration and effective
communication among team members
will support continuous development and quality
improvement. The Multiorgan Transplant Unit is committed to providing optimal patient care that assures comfort, compassion, respect, and dignity to all patients and families. We recognize the impact that potentially fatal end stage organ disease has on both patients and families, and are committed to facilitating knowledgeable decision making regarding the treatment of end stage organ disease through transplantation. We adapt our program as required to meet the changing needs of the community by establishing effective communication with particular emphasis on education that will facilitate patient and family understanding and adaptation throughout the transplantation process. |
